Answer to SBTi public consultation on Financial Instiutions Net-Zero

The Observatory welcomes the major improvements that this Standard represents in comparison with its predecessor, the ‘Financial Institutions Near-Term Criteria’, and proposes a number of recommendations to support its ambition, notably on: policies relating to fossil fuels, the development needs of countries in the South, the definition of companies and activities known as ‘in transition’, the phased approach adopted by SBTi and agriculture, which is insufficiently taken into account by the Standard.
